Meals Are Made Possible by Caring Donors:
The Sophia Elizabeth Foundation’s Meals Program serves more than 1,000 meals a month to homeless men, women, and children and more recently, the unemployed who are doing everything possible to make ends meet here in our community.
We depend on the generosity of caring donors to help meet the needs of people, many of whom have nowhere else to turn.
Your gift does so much more than provide a nutritious meal. It tells the person receiving the meal that you and thousands of other people care and want to help them to overcome their hunger and help them with other needs in their lives.

Our Meals Program mission is four fold:
Through our weekly meal outreach, we serve around 12,000 meals annually.
People of every background, race, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, religion, and of any age may enjoy the meal without fear of being turned away.
Providing fresh healthy meals to the hungry.
In the Sophia Elizabeth Foundation, we've committed ourselves to this -- to provide healthier meals every single day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. An important step in rebuilding one's life is rebuilding yourself and your body, which you can't do without nutritious and healthy meals.
Many of the families and individuals who come to our Meals Program are already vulnerable from lack of access to a balanced diet, whether because of food scarcity, or living in a food desert.
The meals offered are always a healthy mix of all of the basic food groups. We offer many fresh fruits and vegetables to our guests so that they have the same nutrition available to them that makes for healthy eating.

Americans throw away more than 25 percent of the food we prepare, about 96 billion pounds of food waste each year according to the US Department of Agriculture's Estimating and Addressing America's Food Losses.
By redirecting unspoiled food from landfill to our neighbors in need, restaurants can support their local communities and reduce environmental impact. Non-perishable and unspoiled perishable food can be donated. Donated food can also include leftovers from events and surplus food inventory. The donating process is based on donors receiving economic benefit through tax savings in addition to involvement with community and corporate goodwill.
The quality, wholesome prepared food donated from restaurants is a welcomed addition in the total effort to eliminate hunger in our community – The food is deeply appreciated by our Meals Program which committed to serving those who experience hunger. Our Donors understand that, when prepared food is involved, a small amount at a time can rapidly build up to make a big difference.
We realize that operating a quality food service program takes time and commitment, so we make the food donation Program our full-time job so it does not have to be your full-time job. As a result of our coordination, the donation process requires minimal effort by operations personnel, and restaurant team members embrace the program. Our support team is ready to handle all coordination and administration for your food donation. This includes providing the ongoing follow-up and monitoring necessary for successful implementation and growth. Not only has the program benefited the donor financially, but also it has benefited our communities and most importantly provided those in need with good food that otherwise would have been wasted. The SEF donation process furnishes detailed information that enables donors to maximize their tax savings.
